The Youth Arm of the PCTT

The Board of Youth Affairs (BOYA) is the youth arm of the Presbyterian Church of Trinidad and Tobago (PCTT), established to nurture spiritual, emotional, and personal growth among young people. Guided by the principles of faith, service, and leadership, BOYA creates opportunities for youth to engage meaningfully in worship, mission work, education, recreation, and financial stewardship. At the heart of our mission is the biblical call found in 1 Timothy 4:12: “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.” BOYA strives to empower young individuals to live out this scripture by being active contributors to the Church and society. Our programs are structured around five foundational pillars that ensure holistic development and equip youth with the skills and values necessary to lead with integrity and compassion.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to guide the youth of the Presbyterian Church in Trinidad and Tobago toward a deeper understanding and vibrant living out of their faith. We aim to nurture spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and social development by creating inclusive spaces where every young person is valued and empowered. Rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ, we cultivate leadership, creativity, and compassion, encouraging youth to become bold ambassadors of faith in their homes, churches, communities, and the world.

"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it." — Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV)

Vision Statement

We envision a vibrant, Spirit-filled community where every youth is equipped to lead with integrity, serve with compassion, and walk confidently in their faith. Through mentorship, worship, mission, and learning, we commit to nurturing the whole person and building a generation that is deeply rooted in Christ and actively engaged in the world.

"Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity." — 1 Timothy 4:12 (NKJV

The Five Pillars of the Board of Youth Affairs

(BOYA)

The five pillars of BOYA guide its work and reflect its purpose: to support the holistic development of youth within the Church and community. Each pillar represents a key area of focus—Worship & Music nurtures spiritual growth, Mission & Outreach encourages service and compassion, Recreational & Community Building strengthens fellowship, Vocational & Educational Development promotes learning and personal growth, and Financial Growth & Stability ensures resources are available to sustain these initiatives. Together, they provide a framework for empowering young people to grow, serve, and thrive.
